This weekend’s softball doubleheader between Freeman and Kettle Falls could determine the regular-season league champion. Freeman (8-5, 6-2) will play at KF (12-2, 6-2), which swept former co-league leader Colfax last Saturday. Freeman still has a doubleheader with Colfax remaining, while KF finishes with last-place Newport. … Kevin Hatch, Conor Sayres, Malcolm Soelberg and Michael Wittwer, Freeman’s 400-meter relay team, finished first at the Strandberg Invitational last Saturday at Central Valley.
