Moscow dropped a pair of games at the State 4A softball tournament in Post Falls on Saturday, falling short 3-1 in the semifinals against Bishop Kelly and losing 5-4 in a consolation-bracket game with Blackfoot.

Bishop Kelly went on to win the championship, losing 10-5 to Kuna but rebounding for a 2-1 win in the championship game.

In the semifinals, Moscow (10-16) jumped ahead of Bishop Kelly in the second inning when Terah Parkins drove in Jenny McMillan. BK rebounded to tie the game at 1 in the bottom of the third.

Bishop Kelly pushed across two in the bottom of the fifth off Bears reliever Dana Weaver for the final margin.

Britney Croner allowed four hits, two by McMillan, and struck out seven in a complete-game win.

The Bears were eliminated by Blackfoot, which scored four runs off Weaver in the third. Moscow came back with two in the top of the fifth to make it 4-2.

Moscow tied it at 4 with two runs in the top of the sixth, but Blackfoot scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth.

Junior catcher Kaitie Jones drove in two runs for Moscow. The Bears scored their runs with two hits, one walk and five Blackfoot errors.
