Judge denies request for photos of Jackson as evidence in trial

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Prosecutors in Michael Jackson’s child-molestation trial Thursday lost a bid to show the jury photos of the pop star’s reportedly spotted genitalia alongside a past accuser’s drawing of the distinctly marked body part.

Judge Rodney Melville disposed of the request with few words.

“I’m going to deny bringing in evidence of the blemished (genitalia),” he said. “I find the prejudicial effect would far outweigh the probative value.”

The move to get the pop star’s private parts into evidence came in the final hours of the prosecution’s rebuttal case, which is expected to conclude today with a big-screen video presentation of the current accuser’s first interview with police.

In response, the defense plans to call the accuser, now 15, and his mother back to court before wrapping up its surrebuttal case next week.

Jackson, 46, is accused of plying the cancer survivor with alcohol and molesting him while holding the boy and his family against their will in early 2003. Jackson denies all charges.
