Chiefs trade Howarth to Raiders
The Spokane Chiefs sent forward Kyle Howarth to the Prince Albert Raiders in a three-team deal announced on Thursday.
In exchange, Spokane gets 18-year-old David Linsley from the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Linsley, a 6-foot-3 forward, is in his second season in the Western Hockey League. He has one assist in 10 games this season after scoring two goals and six points in 63 games last year with the T-Birds.
Spokane and Prince Albert swapped sixth-round draft picks as part of the deal. Spokane gave up its 2006 pick for the 2007 pick of the Raiders. Prince Albert sent its 2006 fifth-round pick to Seattle.
College volleyball
Nevada downed Idaho 30-27, 17-30, 21-30, 30-19, 15-13 in Western Athletic Conference play in Reno, Nev.
Idaho (13-13, 5-8 in WAC) was led by Haley Larsen (15 kills) and Kati Tikker (12 digs). Nevada is 15-10, 9-5.
Women’s soccer
Washington State seniors Carmen Anderson and Katie Hultin were named to the 2005 Pacific-10 All-Conference second team while sophomore Shaye Harrel earned honorable mention honors.
