Whether shoppers are nervous about coming heating bills or whether they’re responding to early sales, shoppers have already hit the stores — and retailers are welcoming the early start to the season.

This holiday season, the average shopper will spend $738 on gifts, another $86 on themselves, and $132 on flowers, food, candy, cards and postage.
