CCS remains unbeaten with 119-117 victory

Jeremy Magnum scored 33 points and added eight assists to lead Community Colleges of Spokane to a 119-117 win over Team Another Level in the Edmonds Turkey Trot at Edmonds, Wash. on Friday night.

Erik Bell and Humberto Perez also had big nights for the Sasquatch (4-0), as they added 28 points apiece. Bell did his damage from the outside, firing 6 of 11 from the 3-point line, while Perez contributed from the inside, hitting 10 of 14 from the field and 3 of 3 from the free-throw line. Teammate Jordan Hammond added 17.

CC Spokane found itself down 60-58 after a half in which it shot 46 percent from the field.

The comeback came on the heels of much improved shooting, as the Sasquatch shot 68 percent from the field and 12 of 13 from the free-throw line after the break.

•North Idaho scored 20 3-point baskets and romped to a 98-61 victory over outmanned Peninsula College in the Verizon Yellow Pages Cardinal Classic at Christianson Gym.

The Cardinals (7-0), ranked No. 19 in the current NJCAA poll, received 23 points from sophomore forward Darin Nagle.
