Send favorite Christmas ornament stories

The Spokesman-Review

If you celebrate Christmas at your house, do you have a favorite ornament you’ll soon be hanging on the tree?

Perhaps it’s a green glass dill pickle for the family member who loves pickles best. Perhaps it’s a miniature Nativity scene to mark the birth of your family’s own Christmas baby. Or maybe it’s a Santa Claus straddling a surf board, a souvenir of a favorite California beach vacation.

We’re planning an IN Life feature on favorite holiday ornaments and we’d like to hear about yours. We’re looking for ornament tales funny or profound, whimsical or nostalgic. Our favorite entry will win a $100 gift certificate to Old World Christmas in Spokane.

Please describe in 200 words or less what makes this ornament so special, and send it along with a photo of the ornament. Include your full name, address, daytime phone and e-mail address. We won’t be able to return the photos, but we’ll choose the best selections to feature in an upcoming Christmas story in the IN Life section.

Send your photo and ornament tale to My Favorite Ornament, Features Department, The Spokesman-Review, P.O. Box 2160, Spokane, WA 99210, or by e-mail to features@spokesman.com. The last day to enter will be Wednesday.
