Rams rally to knock off Lobos

Associated Press

Justin Holland’s 15-yard touchdown pass to David Anderson in the fourth quarter capped off Colorado State’s second-half rally in a 35-25 win over New Mexico Friday night.

The Rams (5-3, 4-1 Mountain West), who trailed 25-12 at halftime, shut down the Lobos’ offense in the second half and converted three New Mexico (5-4, 3-3) turnovers into 17 points.

Colorado State also ruined New Mexico halfback DonTrell Moore’s big night.

Moore ran for two touchdowns and 117 yards on 19 carries to become the sixth player in NCAA Division I history to rush for more than 1,000 yards in four consecutive seasons.

Chattanooga suspends seven

Seven Chattanooga football players were suspended for what the chancellor describes as curfew violations. The violations coincided with a pre-dawn Oct. 21 gang rape complaint by a female student.

Lawyer Jerry Summers, who is representing some of the players, said the players have been interviewed by police, and “we believe there is a completely different version of what happened.” He said the sex was consensual and “much more limited” than alleged.

Wake Forest punishes four

Receiver Kevin Marion, defensive tackle Jyles Tucker, special-teams performer Travo Woods and tackle Eric Gaskins were suspended indefinitely from Wake Forest’s football team for breaking unspecified rules.
