Jewelry taken in burglary at Kmart

Police are investigating a burglary at Kmart, 4110 E. Sprague, after finding a jewelry case broken into and several rings apparently taken.

An employee at the store called police Sunday morning to report the burglary. Officers found the display case smashed, though an exact number of items taken wasn’t known, according to a Spokane Police Department news release.

Police believe the thief may have hidden inside the store and waited until most employees had left, and then fled out a rear window, which was kicked out.
