Coming Sunday

The Spokesman-Review

Last year, Inland Northwest ski resorts suffered through one of their worst years ever. Some resorts reported half their regular number of skier visits, and one longtime Spokane ski shop closed.

“It was just a terrible season, the worst on record, as far as I know,” said Brad McQuarrie, manager of Mt. Spokane.

But the resorts are ready to write off last year as an anomaly and turn their attention to the coming season. Though some have delayed planned improvements due to reduced revenues, most have made some upgrades at their mountains or at least plan to show off features they built last year which didn’t get used, or in some cases, even seen.
