Willingham perpetuates problem

The Spokesman-Review

Tyrone Willingham exemplifies the sad situation into which the world has pushed itself (“Willingham claims he spoke out,” Sept. 22).

Here is a man who has been given more opportunity in his professional life than most could ever dream. And how does he react? He goes third person in speaking about himself, slyly plays the race card by saying “the world isn’t ready for what I have to say,” and spends hours on end striking a pose as if he is having a statue made of himself.

Why can’t he just accept things for the way they are, work to better them, and not perpetuate the problem by his own actions?

Is hiring someone for their race any better than not hiring someone for the same reason? In either case, the one not hired is discriminated against.

Please, Tyrone, coach football and leave the drama to someone else.
