The ride filled with pride

The Spokesman-Review

March Madness

Turns to sadness

No longer living the dream

Through my favorite team

But I will say it out loud

Of them, I am still proud

They learned and they grew

It’s as if they knew

They’ve become a powerhouse in basketball

And it has been said, even the mighty must fall

First, they were Cinderella, holding a date with destiny

Then David – the Giant killer – looking for the enemy

Now – like Goliath – they carry with themselves, a target

So whenever they get beaten, teams just won’t forget

They will stand tall and proud, even in the face of defeat

As they are mighty warriors, some of the best you’ll ever meet

There’s Mo and Big Poppa and let’s not forget P-MAC

Then there’s Raivio and Pendu and Erroll on attack

We’ve got Big Josh and Nate, Jeremy and Colin

Mallon and L.G., when he’s in – he’s haulin’

There’s also Diallo and don’t forget Gentry

We’ve got everything in, from a Knight to a sentry

So, rise up and smile, give them a hand

Let the Zags know that behind them we stand

We’re here for the duration, not just for the ride

One big Zag Nation, filled with Zag pride
