Greater Spokane League: Jacob Campbell hit an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Rogers a 3-2 victory over visiting North Central (7-4, 7-4). Scotty Livengood threw six innings without allowing an earned run for the Pirates (5-6, 3-6), and he also hit 2 for 4, including a leadoff single in the eighth. … Scott Ward and Beau Brett each hit grand slams for Ferris as the Saxons (9-1, 8-1) swept a doubleheader at Clarkston (5-7, 5-6). Ward hit his grand slam in the fourth inning of the opener, a 15-1 rout in five innings. Brett added three hits for the Saxons, while Caleb Rath threw a one-hitter. In the nightcap, Brett hit his grand slam in a six-run third as the Saxons won 6-4. … Dale Beach threw a seven-hitter and went 2 for 4 to lead Central Valley (7-6, 6-5) to a 5-4 victory over host Shadle Park. Clay Scribner hit 2 for 3 with three RBIs for Shadle (1-8, 1-8). … Eric Barge hit a two-run single in the fourth inning and also pitched six strong innings to lead Lewis and Clark to a 7-3 win over visiting Cheney (0-12, 0-11) at Hart Field. Ben Seebeck added two doubles and an RBI for LC (5-4, 5-4). … Andy Mattingly hit 3 for 5 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored as Mead (7-3, 7-2) pounded 17 hits to hold off host East Valley 11-9. Jye Lanphere had a two-run homer and finished with three RBIs for EV (4-7, 4-7), which tied the game in the sixth after trailing 7-1 in the second. … The game between West Valley (6-2, 6-2) and University (9-3, 8-2) was rained out. The teams will play today at noon.

Softball

Greater Spokane League: Shadle Park sophomore Sam Skillingstad threw her second perfect game of the week (see story on C1) as the host Highlanders routed West Valley 10-0 in six innings. … Mickenzi Alden had a double, a home run and a stolen base to lead Central Valley to a 7-4 win over host Rogers (7-3, 7-3). Rian Stiles was 3 for 3 with two doubles for CV (6-3, 6-3). … Kristina DeMello threw a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts as Mt. Spokane routed visiting Cheney (2-8, 2-8) 10-0 in six innings. Angel Urann was 2 for 4 for the Wildcats (6-3, 6-3), including a three-run double in the sixth. … Alex Cey hit a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh to score Cassie Shanholtzer and give Mead an 11-10 victory over visiting Clarkston (7-3, 6-3). Katie Kine led off a five-run seventh with a solo homer for the Panthers (5-5, 5-5), who trailed 9-2 entering the bottom of the fifth. … Two games were rained out. North Central (7-2, 7-2) will make up its game at University (8-1, 8-0) at 4 p.m. on Monday. Lewis and Clark’s (1-8, 1-8) matchup with East Valley (3-7, 2-7) at Hart Field has not been rescheduled.

Golf

Ty Harris (78) and Derek Paul (82) each earned top-15 finishes while leading Ferris to a four-stroke victory over Moscow in the 25-team Chewelah Invitational. Ryan England shot a 1-over-par 73 at the Chewelah Golf and Country Club to earn medalist honors among the 119-player field and propel Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) to a third-place finish with a score of 335. Harris finished in a four-way tie for fifth and Paul was in a six-way deadlock for 14th to lead the Saxons, who shot 330.
