Volunteers needed at Fox

Spokane Preservation Advocates are looking for volunteers for the Doing It Project from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fox Theater, Sprague and Monroe.

The volunteers will help move the velvet curtains out of the theater and into storage. The curtains are very heavy, so the volunteers could use all the help they can get.

Wear your work clothes. Volunteers will be able to see the work in progress on the restoration of the landmark 1931 Art Deco theater that is scheduled to reopen as a performing arts center and home of the Spokane Symphony in late 2007.

To RSVP, call Ann Cronkhite at 747-7239 or e-mail elizabeththompson@
