Aunt Bea’s Antiques will hold benefit appraisal on Saturday

Aunt Bea and Margaret of Aunt Bea’s Antiques will be on hand from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the American Cancer Society’s Discovery Shop, 805 W. Garland Ave., to let you know what those collectibles in your attic are worth.

They will appraise up to three items for $10. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. For more information, call 328-9373.

Little Spokane River Valley cleanup

The Friends of the Little Spokane River Valley invite volunteers to the annual spring cleanup of the river valley.

Meet at the intersection of Little Spokane River Drive and Shady Slope Road at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The focus will be on Little Spokane River Drive and the adjacent walking trail.

Wear walking shoes and work clothes and bring a pair of gloves. Everything else will be provided.

Free landlord-tenant law seminar

McGarry Law Office will offer a four-hour landlord-tenant seminar in conjunction with Global Credit Union from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Global Credit Union Auditorium, lower level, 1520 W. Third Ave.

The seminar is an overview of the Landlord-Tenant Act including recent legislative enactments.

Volunteers needed for work at the Fox

Spokane Preservation Advocates are looking for volunteers for the Doing It Project from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fox Theater, Sprague and Monroe.

The volunteers will help move the velvet curtains out of the theater and into storage.

The curtains are very heavy so they could use all the help they can get.

Wear your work clothes. Volunteers will be able to see the work in progress on the restoration of the landmark 1931 Art Deco theater that is scheduled to reopen as a performing arts center and home of the Spokane Symphony in late 2007.

COPS North Central pancake feed

COPS North Central hosts its annual pancake feed fund-raiser from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Knox Presbyterian Church, 806 W. Knox Ave.

Tickets are sold in advance at COPS North Central, 630 W. Shannon Ave. The cost is $5.50, $3.50 for children ages 6-14 and free for children under 6. For more information, call 625-3348.
