Davis steps down at Sacred Heart

The Spokesman-Review

Skip Davis has given up his position as CEO of Sacred Heart Medical Center to focus on his role as CEO of Providence Health Care and assume additional responsibilities as a result of the integration of Providence Services and Providence Health System, a hospital spokeswoman said Thursday.

Sacred Heart President and Chief Operating Officer Mike Wilson, who has been with the hospital for 18 years, is now the hospital’s lead executive, public relations director Maureen Goins said.

Wilson named Sacred Heart Vice President Elaine Couture to the position of chief operating officer. Goins said the hospital will be recruiting to fill Couture’s former position.

Sacred Heart, with about 4,000 employees, is Spokane’s largest private employer.

Tech adviser will lease SIRTI space

Spokane-based economic development nonprofit Connect Northwest announced it will lease 1,000 square feet of office space in the SIRTI Technology Center.

The technology center, at 120 N. Pine, is part of the Spokane Intercollegiate Research and Technology Institute, a state-funded economic development agency.

Connect Northwest CEO Bill Kalivas said basing the group in the developing University District underlines his group’s commitment to work with area entrepreneurs. Connect Northwest focuses on helping high-tech companies build their management teams and strengthen their finances.

Connect Northwest’s staff of four will move into the office on May 1, Kalivas said. The organization has used temporary space at the Washington Mutual building downtown since last fall.
