Linda Bruce has been hired at Sterling Savings Bank as assistant vice president and product management specialist. She has more than 25 years of experience in the financial industry and holds a master’s of business administration from Eastern Washington University.

Gonzaga University has hired Peter McKenny as director of the Transmission and Distribution Program in the School of Engineering and Applied Science. He previously worked at the American Transmission Co. in Wisconsin.

Patti Wolfe has been hired as a real estate agent in the downtown Spokane office of Century 21 Beutler & Associates.

Tomlinson Black Valley has hired Eddie Edwards as an agent.

Dr. Christopher Lee, a radiation oncologist, has been hired at Cancer Care Northwest. He is a graduate of the Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

U-District Physical Therapy and Institute of Sports Performance has hired Katie McCaffery as a sports trainer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Western Washington University and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Ken Briggs has been hired as the chief executive officer at the Spokane Valley Community Center and Food Bank. He previously worked as the executive director of the Spokane Lilac Festival.

Keller Williams Coeur d’Alene has hired Sharon Hart as a real estate agent.

Dan Wenger has been named the dean of instruction for arts and humanities at Spokane Falls Community College. He previously was chairman of the English department at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, Calif.

Major John Chamness has been hired as the regional coordinator of the Inland Northwest Region of the Salvation Army. Major Lani Chamness has been hired as the associate coordinator.

PROMOTED

HollisterStier Laboratories has promoted Julie Neff to senior scientist in quality control and method transfer and development. She holds a bachelor’s degree in applied science from Western Washington University.

Tamitha Anderson has been promoted from account coordinator to account executive at Desautel Hege Communications. She has been with the company since 2004 and holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications and public relations from Eastern Washington University.

DCI Engineers has promoted Lee French to structural project manager. He holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from Washington State University and has more than seven years of structural engineering experience.

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories has promoted Marion Gerhardt to vice president and general counsel. She has been with the company since 2000 and holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Louisville School of Law.

Gail Nord has been promoted from assistant professor to associate professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at Gonzaga University.

Kensington Gold Mine in Alaska, part of the Coeur d’Alene Mines Corp., has earned the 2006 Hardrock Mineral Community Outreach and Economic Security Award from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.

Logical Expressions Inc. has achieved Microsoft Certified Partner status.

Barrister Winery has received a Concordance Gold Award at the Indy International Wine Competition. The winery received this award for its 2004 Cabernet Franc.

The Bureau of Facility Standards of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare has awarded Fairwinds, Coeur d’Alene a notification of deficiency-free fire/life safety survey.

ELECTED/APPOINTED

The Inland Northwest Chapter of the American Red Cross has elected new members to its board of directors. They are: Col. Van Fuller of Fairchild Air Force Base; Mark Jucht of Spokane International Airport; Don Malone of AmericanWest Bank; Kristine Meyer of Avista Utilities; Rhosetta Rhodes of Spokane Falls Community College; Beth Thew of the Spokane Regional Labor Council and Sandi Toone, a community volunteer.

The Spokane Insurance Associates has elected new members to its board of directors. They are: Jennifer Wagner, Kemper Auto and Home; Dalee Moua, Acordia Northwest Inc.; Rose Chambers, Fidelity Associates Inc.; and Mary Lemon, Fidelity Associates.

The following have been appointed to the Idaho Film Industry Advisory Committee: Dawn Wells, an actor and founder of the Idaho Film and Television Institute; Doug Copsey, an actor, writer and director; Russ Simons, formerly of the Walt Disney Co.; Rich Cowan of North by Northwest Productions; and Tom Williamson, a writer and producer.
