Best ball contest last week at MeadowWood

MeadowWood Women’s 18-Hole Golf group conducted and odd-even best ball competition last week.

The four-person team of Sandy McLaughlin, Kate Brown, Patrice Sweeney and Marilyn McCanna finished first with a low net 67.

Two strokes back were Leslie Zilka,

Elsa Metting

, Marie Nelson and Barb Midkiff.

Finishing third with 71 were Andine Suddeth, Paulette Zuehlke, Jan Doege and Dianna Sisco.

Jones vs. McComas

Finalists for the Liberty Lake Women’s 18-Hole Golf Club championship have been determined.

Jones will face Caryn McComas for the 2006 title. Both won their match-play contests on Aug. 22.

First flight is Elsa Metting against Louise Newtson. Second flight pits Dorothy Womach against Maggie Steffy.

Trailhead in action

Weekly play among Trailhead Ladies Golf Club members last week included a low gross 49 score by Carolyn State.

State won A flight with her round, while Deanna Hauser had low net of 34.

Joy Russell shot 55 to win B flight and Bev Johnson netted 36. In C flight, Sandi Hatcher shot 53 and Eileen Couper had the day’s lowest net of 20.

Iness Walth recorded a chip-in.

Ladies take flight

Weekly flight winners for the Liberty Lake Ladies Nine-Hole Golf Club last week were determined on Aug. 24. And second flight golfers held sway.

Sadie Rueckert and Mary Ann Wilharm each shot 59 for the low-gross of the field. Arla Beck shot 61 in first flight and Lee King had 67 in third.

Overall net winner was Emma Long with a 36 in second flight. Darlene Reilly netted 40 in third and Nancy Lampe had 44 in first.

Long had a chip-in on the eighth hole and Mary Gehrman had one on No. 6.
