Prafke reduces role at Humanix

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

Julie Prafke, the president and chairwoman of Humanix Corp., officially has given up day-to-day control of the temporary staffing agency she founded.

Nancy Nelson, Humanix’s chief operating officer, has been promoted to president of the company, Prafke said. Mark Qualley, manager of Humanix’s Coeur d’Alene branch, has become chief operating officer.

Prafke, 64, will retain the title of chairwoman and will consult with the company for a year.

Nelson’s succession has been in the works for five years, Prafke said, adding that she now plans to spend much of her time working on legislation important to the temporary-staffing industry as well as to small businesses in Eastern Washington.

Plus, “I’ll spend more time with my grandkids,” Prafke said.

Nelson has been with Humanix for 18 of its 20 years in existence, Prafke said.

Humanix is employee-owned, so Nelson’s succession doesn’t involve a sale of the company, she added.

The company offers temporary staffing services as well as recruiting for professional jobs through its Promanix department. It has offices in Spokane Valley and Coeur d’Alene and employs 33 people.
