The Spokesman-Review

The Everett Silvertips visit the Spokane Chiefs tonight, one day after completing a trade with the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Spokane (16-11-3-1, 36 points) enters the game tied for second in the Western Hockey League’s U.S. Division with Tri-City. The Chiefs have won three straight and are 7-2-0-1 over their last 10 games.

Division leader Everett (25-3-0-1, 51) has won eight of its last 10. On Tuesday, the Silvertips acquired defenseman Jesse Zetariuk, 20, and forward Carter Smith, 18, from Moose Jaw in exchange for defenseman Cody Thoring, forward Brady Calla, and a sixth-round pick in the 2008 Bantam Draft.

Calla, 18, was in his fourth season with the Silvertips. Thoring, 20, had also spent his entire WHL career with Everett.
