Bryan Peterson scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead West Valley to a 53-48 win over host Moscow in a non-league boys game Tuesday.

Casey Sherrill added 13 points and six rebounds for the Eagles (2-1).

Shane Miller scored 14 points to lead the Bears (4-1), who couldn’t recover after falling behind 14-4 in the first quarter.

In other non-league action, sophomore Kelly Cook scored 20 points and Alex Hovde added 10 points and 10 rebounds as Tekoa-Oakesdale (3-2) beat Asotin 72-42 in Tekoa. Ryan Witters led the Panthers with 17 points and nine rebounds. … Ben Aune scored 20 points and Jared Berarducci added 12 as Colfax (3-0) beat visiting Warden 74-39. The Bulldogs took a 15-point lead into halftime. … Kris Wise scored 15 points, leading Riverside to a 63-49 win over visiting Newport (1-4). Senior guard Samantha Flett scored 15 of her game-high 26 points in the fourth quarter as Wellpinit erased a nine-point, fourth-quarter deficit and beat visiting St. George’s (2-5, 1-1) 46-45. Charnelle Abrahamson made a layin with 14 seconds left to give the Redskins (2-2, 2-1) the lead for good. The Vikings (7-0, 3-0) trailed by one after three quarters, but outscored the Trojans 16-3 in the fourth quarter for the win. Heather Arnone scored a game-high 16 points to lead Post Falls (7-3, 1-2). … Also in the IEL, sophomore Katie Baker scored 16 points, pulled down eight rebounds and dished out four assists as Lake City topped visiting Moscow 57-28. The Timberwolves (6-1, 3-1) got out to a quick start, outscoring the Bears 28-15 in the first half. Chantel Divilbiss scored 13 points for Moscow (1-8, 0-3).
