Hints from Heloise

The Spokesman-Review

Dear Heloise: I spend a good deal of effort avoiding any scented products, as most give me an immediate headache, plus sneezes and a runny nose. Thank goodness manufacturers have heeded the pleas of people like me, and we can now find many unscented household and personal products. I’ve had to write to store advertisers and magazine publishers and ask them not to put scented products in my mail. Most comply, thank goodness. I enjoy your columns, so keep up the good work. – Alice E. Davis, Irvine, Calif.

Dear Heloise: I never have a problem with outdated food in my freezer. When wrapping new, leftover or frozen packs, I place a number on each pack on a strip of masking tape. In a 5-by-7-inch notebook, I enter the number, date and identification of contents. It’s easy, and prevents old, forgotten items. I cross out items as they are removed. – Elizabeth from Florida
