Pens, Crosby rout Flyers
Sidney Crosby took over the NHL scoring lead Wednesday night with a career-high six points in the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 8-4 rout of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Crosby had one goal and five assists to give him 47 points for the season, three more than New York Rangers captain Jaromir Jagr.
Sergei Gonchar had two goals and three assists, Ryan Malone added one goal and three assists, and Mark Recchi had a goal and assist for the Penguins.
Avalanche 4, Blues 1: At Denver, Milan Hejduk and Paul Stastny had one goal and one assist each as Colorado defeated St. Louis.
Jamal Mayers scored the lone goal for St. Louis
Ducks 2, Thrashers 1: At Atlanta, Teemu Selanne scored two goals, Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 34 shots, and Anaheim beat Atlanta.
Niko Kapanen scored Atlanta’s only goal and Kari Lehtonen stopped 30 shots to keep the Thrashers close.
