Food advisory group needs committee members

The Spokesman-Review

The Spokane Regional Health District Food Advisory Committee has openings for three new members.

The committee is a cooperative effort between the health district’s food safety program and the food industry. It assists in the development of educational materials and class instruction programs, and its members give input on food safety program policies, regulations and fees.

There are three vacant positions: One must be held by a food service industry representative; another is for a representative of a higher education institution; and the third must be a consumer who lives in Spokane County.

Committee members must be willing to serve two-year terms and attend meetings the first Wednesday in February, June and November, as well as a special meeting in January.

To learn more or to apply, contact the Spokane Regional Health District at (509) 324-1560, ext. 2. Applications must be returned no later than Jan. 2 to be considered.
