Auditions

“All My Sons” – Spokane Civic Theatre, next Thursday, 6:30 p.m., at the theater, 1020 N. Howard St. Needed: four women and six men who appear between the ages of 20 and 65. Auditioners will recite a one-minute contemporary monologue, perform improvisational exercises and read cold from the script. Performance dates: Feb. 23-March 10. Call (509) 325-1413.

Classes and workshops

Hand Drumming Workshops – West African drumming, Thursdays starting next Thursday, 6-7 p.m.; Middle Eastern drumming, Fridays starting Jan. 5, 6-7 p.m.; Afro-Cuban drumming classes, Saturdays starting Jan. 6, noon-1 p.m., at Malidoma World Drum and Dance Studio, 408 W. Call for writers

2007 Playwrights’ Forum Festival – Full-length and one-act plays are being accepted for the Spokane Civic Theatre’s annual festival in June. Full-length plays (60-minute minimum) are due Sunday; entry fee is $15 per play. One-act plays (no longer than 60 minutes) are due Feb. 1; entry fee is $10 per play. Call for artists

Valleyford Amateur Art Show – On Sacred Grounds Coffee, Tea and Specialty Shoppe, 12212 E. Palouse Highway, is accepting all kinds of media (except computer-generated graphics) for this winter-themed show Jan. 8. Entry fee: adults $20, students $10. All work should be matted and framed with white mattes and dark frames. First-place adult entry will receive $50 and the first-place student entry $25. Call (509) 747-6294.
