Enjoy Ballet & Bubbly at Bing Crosby Theater

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

After the First Night fun is over Sunday at the Bing Crosby Theater, it’s time to break out the bubbly.

Following an alcohol-free performance at 7:30 p.m. as part of First Night Spokane festivities, Theatre Ballet of Spokane will present its 19th annual Ballet & Bubbly production at the theater (formerly The Met), 901 W. Sprague Ave.

A champagne and chocolate reception begins at 8:30, followed at 9:30 by the presentation of four new works, including one by Charles Askegard, a New York City Ballet principal dancer.

The piece, titled “6 For 7,” is set to the music of Grieg. Askegard, the brother of Theatre Ballet’s artistic director, Dodie Askegard, was in Spokane recently for rehearsals.

Also featured will be two new works by Dodie Askegard and one by resident choreographer Sara Donally.

Tickets are $20, through TicketsWest outlets (509-325-SEAT, 800-325-SEAT, www.ticketswest.com). For more information call (509) 838-5705.
