Candlelight concert at St. John’s

The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., is offering acChoral evensong candlelight service Sunday at 4 p.m.

The cathedral also will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. for tours.

The concert will feature the chants “The Magnificat” and “Nunc Dimittis,” by Philip Moore of York Minster Cathedral, and the anthem “Blessed City, Heavenly Salem” by Sir Edward C. Bairstow.

St. John’s organist and choirmaster, Janet Satre Ahrend, will perform.

Valentine’s Day fund-raiser

Mordecai Ministries is hosting a fund-raising Valentine’s Day dinner and dance Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Timberview Christian Fellowship, 15511 N. Howe Road, Mead.

The ministry is a nonprofit group that serves area orphans. Some of its services include recruiting foster and adoptive homes, providing clothing, case management and developing foster and adoption resources in the Christian community.

The 1940s-themed romantic evening will include music by the Brent Edstrom Jazz Combo and a dinner prepared by Rick and Becky Giles. Robyn Nance of KXLY-TV will be the master of ceremonies.

Taize prayer service

St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, 2120 W. First Ave., is offering an ecumenical Taize prayer service Sunday at 7 p.m.

Classes and study groups

Ancient Traditions Community Church, 1928 E. Rich Ave., is offering a monthly class to discuss enneagram personality types starting Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The class will meet on the second Monday of each month. There is a suggested donation of $5.

The Lutheran Book Parlor, 1414 W. Broadway Ave., and Jubilee Ministries are forming a discussion group based on the book “Sub-Merge” by Ashley Baker and John Hayes.

The group will discuss the “intentional Christian community” and deepening your faith.

Pastor Arthur Houk of Faith Baptist Church, 673 Arden Hill Road, Colville, is offering a presentation, “The March for Victory,” Sunday at 6 p.m.

The presentation will include pictures of Houk during the March of Victory that took place in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 3, 1970, during the Vietnam War. For more information, call (509) 684-3983.

The Unity Center, 4123 E. Lincoln Road, is presenting Rev. Rich Broderhausen on Sundays in this month from 10 to 11 a.m.
