Central Valley SCOPE – Volunteers are preparing for the election of new officers next month. Discussions are ongoing regarding making improvement to the SCOPE building to enhance customer service. (Source: Board member Deanna Hormann)

Liberty Lake SCOPE – Volunteers discussed changes in procedures as well as a few upcoming events. Volunteers plan to help with the spring green collection of hazardous materials scheduled for April 29. They also discussed ways to recruit new volunteers. (Source: President Rob Hill)

Millwood City Council – Valley Fire Assistant Chief Larry Rider gave a presentation on the district’s upcoming levy. Council members gave approval for two upcoming events to be held in the town’s park: the West Valley Days on June 3 and the Mustang Club car show on July 9. Valley Fire – Commissioners held the first reading of policies dealing with whistleblowers, requests for public records and nepotism. They also declared two old Chevy vans and other equipment surplus. (Source: Commissioner Joe Dawson)

Fairfield City Council – Council members awarded the bid for the town’s water tank recoating project to Wilbur Fletcher Inc. They also voted to approve the new law enforcement contract with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. (Source: Deputy City Clerk Donna McLean)

Edgecliff SCOPE – Volunteers discussed their ongoing clothing drive. Donations have been coming in, but more are needed. There are plans to host a pancake feed sometime in March. Volunteers are also planning to have an entry in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. There was also a discussion on Wednesday’s drug bust in the Rose Haven mobile home park. (Source: President Rick Scott)
