Huskies’ Roy player of week
SEATTLE – Washington senior Brandon Roy was named the Pac-10 men’s basketball player of the week Monday for the second consecutive time.
He’s the first Husky to win the honor on successive weeks since Chris Welp in 1986.
Roy averaged 23 points – on 17-for-23 shooting – plus 6.5 assists and six rebounds last weekend. The No. 17 Huskies improved to 20-5 by completing their first road sweep of Oregon and Oregon State since 1998.
Roy leads the Pac-10 in scoring during conference play with a 22.6-point average.
