Nuggets win on Anthony’s jumper

Carmelo Anthony scored 30 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 3.4 seconds left in overtime, to give the Denver Nuggets a 102-101 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night in Minneapolis.

Kevin Garnett had 23 points and 15 rebounds for Minnesota.

Wizards 102, Cavaliers 94: Gilbert Arenas scored 26 points, and Washington held LeBron James to four points in the second half to beat the Cavaliers in Cleveland.

Hawks 117, Pacers 112 (OT): Joe Johnson matched his career high with 40 points, including a 3-pointer that sent the game into overtime, and Atlanta beat host Indiana at Indianapolis.

Nets 94, Knicks 90: The Steve Francis era got off to a slow start in New York. The Knicks allowed the first 10 points, trailed the rest of the way, and were frequently booed during a loss to visiting New Jersey.

Spurs 83, Grizzlies 80: Tim Duncan scored 19 points and grabbed 16 rebounds and San Antonio survived a furious last-minute Memphis comeback attempt to beat the Grizzlies in Memphis, Tenn.

Rockets 91, Warriors 88: Yao Ming and Juwan Howard each scored 22 points, and Houston beat visiting Golden State for its first victory in its 14th try this season without Tracy McGrady, who was not with the team because of a death in his family.

Pistons 95, Bulls 87: Chauncey Billups scored 17 points and Antonio McDyess tied a season high with 16 to lift Detroit over the Bulls in Chicago.

76ers 116, Bucks 111: Kyle Korver scored a career-high 31 points and Allen Iverson added 30, passing Julius Erving for 47th place on the NBA’s career scoring list, as Philadelphia won at Milwaukee.

Celtics 102, Trail Blazers 96: Paul Pierce scored 37 points, Wally Szczerbiak added 25, and Boston won at Portland.

Clippers 102, Lakers 83: Elton Brand scored 32 and had 11 rebounds to lead the Clippers past the visiting Lakers at Los Angeles.
