District 7 2A

Adam Anderson scored 13 of his 24 points in the third quarter, and the rest of the Riverside Rams rallied in the fourth to defeat top-seeded host Pullman 64-57 in a District 7 2A boys basketball semifinal Friday night. Caleb Watt added 21 points for No. 4 seed Riverside (14-8), which outscored Pullman 24-10 in the fourth quarter. Ben Hein scored 19 to lead the Greyhounds (18-3), and George Turner added 15 points and 10 rebounds. … In the other semifinal, Garrett Perkins had 10 points and 11 rebounds, and No. 2 seed Lakeside broke open a tie game after three quarters to defeat No. 3 Chewelah 52-38 at Nine Mile Falls. Joel Noland added nine points, five rebounds and five assists for the host Eagles (14-7), who will face Riverside for the district title Wednesday night at Mead. Jesse Garner scored 14 to lead the Cougars (11-11), who will face Pullman in a loser-out game Tuesday night at Mead. Tuesday’s winner and Wednesday’s loser will square off Friday for the second and final berth to state.

District 7 B

Zach Gianukakis had 25 points and 18 rebounds, and Derek Gianukakis added 18 points and 16 boards as Republic defeated Reardan 68-52 in a loser-out game at Mead. Todd Orestad scored 15 and Adam Hancock dished out eight assists for the Tigers (22-3). Travis Teaford scored 21 to lead the Indians (14-13). … Cameron Stevenson had 28 points and seven rebounds as Lind-Ritzville defeated Wellpinit 68-57 in a loser-out game at Mt. Spokane. Myles Borth added 16 points for the Broncos (17-9), who will face 2004 state champion Republic today at Mt. Spokane in a winner-to-state, loser-out game at noon. Norbert Abrahamson led the Redskins (15-11) with 18 points and eight rebounds.

District 7 B

Shawn Hennessy scored 19 points as Liberty eliminated defending State B champion Cusick 63-44 in a loser-out game at Mead. Cami Bullock and Amber Troyer added 11 apiece for the Lancers (20-5), who blew open the game late by outscoring the Panthers 16-5 in the fourth quarter. Amanda Smith scored a game-high 20 for Cusick (18-8). … Steven Carson had 14 points and nine rebounds, and Inchelium held off a late rally to defeat Davenport 53-48 in a loser-out affair at Mt. Spokane. Melissa Dick scored 12, and Chelsi Pakootas added 10 points and six assists for the Hornets (22-5), who will face Liberty today at Mt. Spokane in a winner-to-state, loser-out game at 1:45 p.m. Kaylee Semprimoznik scored 18 for the Gorillas (18-9), including a pair of 3-pointers late to put Davenport within two with 1:48 left.
