Ticket ‘app’ doubles up

Recently, TicketsWest, a partner of the Washington State University athletic department, sent an application to all of its basketball season ticket holders. The application is for the 2007 NCAA men’s basketball tournament and the 2008 NCAA women’s basketball tournament. Both will be hosted by WSU at the Spokane Arena. Applications (including full payment) must be submitted by March 1, 2006!

Packaging the men’s and women’s tournaments on one application is totally unreasonable. It is like combining the NCAA applications with tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters or the State B basketball tournament.

Hopefully, WSU men’s basketball season ticket holders will not fall for these highly questionable business tactics. Fans should also be aware that if a WSU team qualifies for the 2007 or 2008 tournament, they cannot play in Spokane. According to NCAA criteria, it is also very likely that GU or EWU would not play in Spokane.
