Idaho park sculpture proposals needed

Proposals are being sought from Northwest artists for an outdoor public sculpture to be placed in the city park in Kooskia, Idaho. The project is intended to complement the community’s theme, “Gateway to Idaho’s Wilderness” and commemorate the bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark expedition and the role played by the Nez Perce tribe. It will feature some of the plants and animals native to the area.

The sculpture, which will enhance the exterior of a new restroom building, is commissioned by the nonprofit group Communities Creating Connections. The budget, including all design, fabrication, transportation and installation, is limited to $16,000.

Proposal deadline is Jan. 16. For more information, see www.creativespirit-id.org or call Vickie Garcia, Communities Creating Connections arts coordinator, at (208) 926-7248.
