Holy Spirit Conference in CdA

Destiny Church is presenting the Grace for All Nations Ministries International Holy Spirit 2006 Conference from Thursday through Jan. 22 at the Coeur d’Alene Resort.

Evangelist and prophet Emmanuel Ziga will speak at this event, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Thursday with a special service. Music will be provided by Betty Symons.

Friday will bring two services, at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. There will be a breakfast buffet next Saturday at 10 a.m., which will cost $17.50 per person, and a 7 p.m. service.

The Jan. 22 service is at 7 p.m.

Registration is not required. A free-will offering will be taken.

Christian ski trip

Life Services Pregnancy Centers, Medical Clinics and Maternity Home is presenting its fourth annual Christian Ski Night at Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park on Sunday from 5 to 9:30 p.m.

Advance lift tickets are $10, tickets at the mountain are $13, and anyone with a season pass to Mt. Spokane can pay a $5 donation at the ticket window. All proceeds will benefit Life Services.

Classes and workshops

• The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., is offering “Understanding the Meditative Process,” a public talk by Jason Siff of the Skillful Meditation Project of California, Tuesday at 7 p.m.

• Radha Yoga Center, 405 S. Coeur d’Alene St., Suite T, is offering a two-part introductory class to Kundalini Yoga Wednesday and Jan. 25 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The class will discuss making important decisions and learning intuitive methods for gaining a greater awareness. The cost is $16.

Movie discussion group

Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline St., is presenting its monthly “Faith and Film” discussion group Sunday from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The group will discuss how selected films connect with Christianity.

This month’s movie will be “The Long Walk Home,” which stars Sissy Spacek and Whoopi Goldberg. It takes place in Montgomery, Ala. in 1955 and deals with the civil rights movement. For more information, call the church office at 448-2909.
