Kryon speaker

The Unity Center, 4123 E. Lincoln Road, is presenting speaker and author Lee Carroll today in an intensive program.

Carroll is the author of the Kryon metaphysical book series, in which he channels messages from a spirit by that name. He has presented this program at the United Nations five times.

Check-in begins at 11 a.m., and the presentation will end at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $85.

Carillon concert

The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., is kicking off its Summer Carillon Concert Series on Tuesday at 9 p.m. in celebration of the Fourth of July.

Andrea McCrady, the cathedral carillonneur, will play patriotic tunes.

Ellen Dickenson, a carillon consultant at Yale University, will join her for the finale. After the concert, the audience is invited to picnic in the churchyard and watch the fireworks from there.

On Thursday at 7 p.m., Dickenson will be joined by Roy Lee, a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America.

City Gate fundraiser

ComedySportz, 227 W. Riverside Ave., will donate $4 of each $10 ticket sold to today’s 8 p.m. show to City Gate Ministries.

This family friendly show includes improvisational comedy.

Youth-led service

Highland Park United Methodist Church, 611 S. Garfield St., is presenting a service led by junior and senior high youths from Twinlow Music Art Drama and Dance Camp on Sunday at 10 a.m.

The youths will praise God through the arts.

Vacation Bible schools

Central United Methodist Church, 518 W. Third Ave., is holding vacation Bible school July 10 through 14 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Kids in kindergarten through the sixth grade are invited to “Fiesta Time,” which will include singing, playing and learning.

First Covenant Church, 212 S. Division St., also is holding vacation Bible School on July 10 through 14 from 9 a.m. to noon.

“Fiesta” will be open to kids age 5 through the sixth grade.

Driscoll Boulevard Baptist Church, 4815 N. Driscoll Blvd., is offering vacation Bible school July 10 through 14 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Kids in kindergarten through the sixth grade are invited to attend “Arctic Edge: Where Adventure Meets Courage.” Activities will include worship and crafts.

The children will perform a program during a dinner July 15 at 6 p.m. that also will include carnival games.
