Red Sox 9, White Sox 6: At Chicago, David Ortiz hit his 31st homer, his eighth in eight games, and Josh Beckett got his 11th win despite giving up three homers as Boston used timely two-out hitting to beat Chicago.

Orioles 7, Indians 4: At Cleveland, Erik Bedard won his fifth straight start, Melvin Mora hit a two-run homer and Ramon Hernandez had two hits and two RBIs as Baltimore beat Cleveland to snap a four-game losing streak.

Yankees 5, Devil Rays 1: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Chien-Ming Wang pitched 8 1/3 solid innings and Johnny Damon hit a two-run triple off Scott Kazmir, leading New York to a victory over Tampa Bay.

Blue Jays 7, Royals 5: At Kansas City, Mo., Shea Hillenbrand hit a tiebreaking homer in the seventh inning, and Aaron Hill had four hits – matching his career-high – and two RBIs to lead Toronto to a victory over Kansas City.

Twins 4, Rangers 0: At Arlington, Texas, Francisco Liriano allowed four hits in seven innings to win his sixth straight start and Torii Hunter homered as Minnesota beat Texas to stop a three-game losing streak.

Angels 6, Athletics 4: At Oakland, Calif., Jered Weaver pitched seven strong innings to remain perfect in six starts and Maicer Izturis had three hits, including his first home run in nearly a year, leading Los Angeles to a victory over Oakland.
