The Spokesman-Review

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – The Spokane Indians blew a six-run lead, losing to the Vancouver Canadians 12-7 in a Northwest League baseball game Tuesday night.

The Indians had taken a 4-1 lead in the fourth inning with the help of Hunter Harrigan’s two-run double and added three runs in the fifth inning, two runs coming on Steve Marquardt’s home run.

But the Canadians came back with two runs in the fifth, another in the sixth, took the lead for good with three in the seventh, and then buried Spokane with a five-run eighth.

The Canadians piled up 15 hits. The Indians helped out with five errors and six unearned runs.

Shannon Wirth, the fourth and final Indians pitcher, took the loss in his first decision.

The two teams meet in an afternoon game today.
