Irises galore

Come early to get your pick of irises at the Town and Country Iris Society sale today beginning at 9 a.m. in the Green Thumb Nursery parking lot, 16816 E. Sprague. There will be hundreds of varieties for sale, all for $1 or less. The sale ends when the irises run out, so don’t dawdle. You’ll want to shop fast anyway so you can get back into air conditioning.

Flea market

If you’re not the type to allow a little heat stop your shopping, check out the flea market being held this weekend in Otis Orchards. Some proceeds will benefit the Spokane Guilds’ School and Girl Scout Troop No. 52.

Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 3522 N. Eden Road. Admission is free. Call 891-7536 for more information.
