Davis slams three homers in Indians victory
VANCOUVER, B.C. – Chris Davis slugged three home runs and drove in five runs as the Spokane Indians salvaged the final game of a five-game series against the Vancouver Canadians, 6-5, in a Northwest League baseball game Friday afternoon.
Davis homered in his first three at-bats, sandwiching a pair of two-run homers around a solo shot. He flied out deep to right in his final at-bat. He leads the team with seven homers. Brandon Cashman hit four homers in a game for Spokane in 2004.
The Canadians rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth against reliever Glenn Swanson before Adam Schaecher came in to get the final out for his first save.
Michael Wagner (2-2) started for the Indians and got the win, spreading out nine hits over six innings. Swanson struck out six in his 2 2/3 innings of work.
The Indians open a six-game homestand tonight at 6:30 with the first of three games against Tri-City Dust Devils.
