Northwest area residents invited to annual picnic

The public is invited to the COPS Northwest, West Central and North Central annual neighborhood picnic at Audubon Park from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Games are scheduled, including an adult drawing contest. The picnic also will offer free beverages and music.

Parents will be invited to enroll in the Family I.D. program (registering bicycles, learning about Block Watch and Community Oriented Policing).

Picnic guests can learn about the 2006 National Night Out on Tuesday, where citizens are encouraged to host and attend block parties.

This year’s theme is “Give Neighborhood Crime and Drugs a Going-away Party.”
