Spokane Chorus wins regional

The Spirit of Spokane Chorus took first place in the chorus competition at last month’s Sweet Adelines regional convention at the Spokane Opera House. This is the fifth time that the chorus, directed by Mike Elliott, has won the Region 13 competition, which includes Washington, North Idaho and Alaska. It will represent the region at the Sweet Adelines International Convention in Calgary, Alberta, in October 2007. The Coeur d’Alene Chorus, competing under new director Bianca Perry, placed seventh.

In quartet competition at the regional convention, Pepper, with members from Spokane, Coeur d’Alene and Helena, won second place and Moxie, made up of singers from Spokane and Sandpoint, took third.
