Girls golf

Greater Spokane League: Central Valley’s Katie Sorenson had the medalist round with an 8-over-par 80 at the 4A District tournament at The Links Golf Course. The top 32 golfers advanced to the second round of districts Wednesday at Hangman Valley Golf Course.

Great Northern League: Gracie Schory of Chewelah earned her first medalist honor in league play with an 81 at the fourth GNL match at the Chewelah Golf and Country Club. Pullman shot a 503 to win the event on the par-74 course. The Greyhounds have won all four events heading into Thursday’s GNL tournament at Hangman Valley Golf Course, where the top 21 golfers will advance to districts.

Boys golf

Great Northern League: Lakeside’s Ryan England earned his second medalist score in league play with a 76 at the fourth GNL match at Chewelah. Pullman notched its first win with a 431 on the par-72 course. Deer Park was runner-up at 450. With two first-place finishes and two seconds, the Stags are the top seed heading into Thursday’s GNL tournament at Hangman Valley.

Baseball

Panorama League tournament at Kettle Falls: St George’s (17-3) secured the league’s No. 1 seed to districts with a 6-3 win over Northport (17-3), which got the No. 2 seed. … St. Michael’s shut out Springdale (11-9) 5-0, and Republic topped Columbia 12-4 (5-13) in loser-out games. … Republic (18-4) then cruised to a 7-1 win over St. Michael’s in a seeding game. The Tigers earned the third seed and will play at the Bi-County League No. 2 seed Friday. St. Michael’s (13-7) finished fourth and will travel to Northport, the Panorama League’s second seed, Friday.
