Baha’i celebration

Members of the Baha’i faith are celebrating the anniversary of the Declaration of the Bab on Monday at 7 p.m. at CenterPlace at Mirabeau, 2426 N. Discovery Place.

Danis Ashberger will play the Lakota flute, George Marks will perform a Native American welcome dance, and Henri Cross from Oregon will be the guest speaker.

Music at the cathedral

The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., is presenting the musical group Sidhe, which includes guitarist Michael Millham and his wife, soprano Keleren Millham, on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The two will perform pieces from 250 years of musical traditions.

The cathedral also will offer its “Open Door” hours on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Visitors are invited to explore both the grounds and the interior of St. John’s.

Readers’ theater

The West Central Ministry Players will perform “Over the River and Through the Woods,” a readers’ theater comedy, Sunday at 2 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, 1428 W. Broadway Ave.

The proceeds of this performance will benefit Our Place Ministries in the West Central neighborhood.

Admission is $15, which includes a refreshment buffet. There will be a limited number of tickets available at the door, so reservations are recommended.

Members honored

Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 1926 W. Chelan Ave., is honoring 21 congregants who have been a part of the church for 50 years or more.

Faith Baptist Church, 673 Arden Hill Road, Colville, is presenting the International Baptist College Ministry Team from Tempe, Ariz., on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Garage sale fundraiser

Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 4320 S. Conklin St., is holding a garage sale today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to benefit Habitat for Humanity-Spokane.

Items for sale include outdoor barbecues, tools, furniture, clothing, toys and an office copier. There also will be a bake sale.

Widows/singles lunch

Sunny Sundays, a group for widows and single women at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 5720 S. Perry St., is hosting a luncheon Sunday at 1 p.m. in the parish hall.

The event will also include surprise entertainers. There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted.
