Jordan leads NIC’s rout of Sheridan

Simone Jordan led North Idaho with 28 points and added 11 rebounds and three blocks as the Cardinals women rolled to an easy 93-58 win over Sheridan at the CSI Basketball Classic at Twin Falls on Saturday.

Jordan shot 5 of 11 from the 3-point line and 11 of 23 from the field.

Kay Hill added 21 points and 12 rebounds for North Idaho, who built a 52-23 halftime lead.

Brianne Schipman led Sheridan with 16 points and nine rebounds and Lyndie Neville added 10 assists.

Sheridan shot just 2 of 18 from the outside and 26 of 68 overall.

Women’s soccer

Katlyn Laughlin had a goal and an assist, guiding CC Spokane to a 3-1 win over host Shoreline in the second round of the NWAACC conference playoffs.

Laughlin scored in the first minute of play off an assist from Heather Wilson.

CCS advances to the semifinals where they will play the winner between Tacoma and Lane on Saturday.

Men’s soccer

Joey Graham had two goals and an assist to lead Whatcom to a 3-0 shutout of visiting CC Spokane in the second round of the NWAACC conference playoffs.

Robbie Wright made six saves for Whatcom.

CCS is finished for the season.

Volleyball

Anna Cmaylo had 16 kills and Caroline Walters added 15 digs as No. 22 Santa Clara beat Gonzaga 30-27, 30-28, 30-27 in a West Coast Conference match in Santa Clara, Calif.

Crystal Matich added 45 assists for the Broncos.

Becky Jones had nine kills and 12 digs to lead the Bulldogs.

Gonzaga falls to 8-19 overall and 3-9 in conference play.

Santa Clara improved to 20-6 overall and 9-4 in the WCC.

• Brittney Page had 15 kills and Mandy Daniels added 21 digs as Eastern Washington beat Montana 30-23, 30-25, 30-28 in a Big Sky Conference match in Cheney.

Addie Webster added 10 kills and 10 digs for the Eagles and Amanda Yausie had 29 assists.

Montana was led by Claudia Houle, who had a team-high 11 kills and 12 digs. Taryn Wright added 18 assists and Jackie White chipped in with 10 digs.

Eastern Washington improves to 18-8 overall and 10-6 in conference play.

Montana falls to 12-14 overall and 9-7 in the Big Sky.

•Idaho team was swept by the host San Jose State Spartans, falling 24-30, 24-30, and 22-30.

Cross country

Whitworth senior Julie Lauterbach finished fifth at the NCAA Division III West Regionals at Prado Park in Chino, Calif., helping the Pirates women earn seventh place.

Lauterbach finished the 6,000-meter course in 22 minutes 56.63 seconds. She will be making her second straight appearance at the NCAA Championship meet next weekend at Voice of America Park in Mason, Ohio.

The next Whitworth finisher was freshman Jo Mayer, who finished in 38th with a time of 24:29.98.
