Ducks prevail over Wild
Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 24 saves and the Anaheim Ducks bounced back from their first regulation loss of the season to beat the Minnesota Wild 3-2 on Sunday night in Anaheim, Calif.
Dustin Penner and Corey Perry scored for Anaheim in the second period, and Scott Niedermayer added a power-play goal in the third.
While Giguere faced 26 shots, the Ducks got off 38 at Niklas Backstrom.
Blues 5, Oilers 3: At St. Louis, Martin Rucinsky scored twice as St. Louis snapped a three-game losing skid by beating Edmonton.
Bryce Salvador, Rucinsky and Jay McClement also scored for St. Louis, which won for the second time in its last eight games. Back-up goalie Curtis Sanford made 31 saves for the Blues.
Rookie Brad Winchester scored twice for the Oilers.
Blackhawks 1, Blue Jackets 0: At Chicago, Brian Boucher stopped 28 shots for his 13th NHL shutout and first victory with Chicago, a win over Columbus.
Defenseman Lasse Kukkonen scored in the second period to help the Blackhawks win their second straight.
Columbus’ Fredrik Norrena made 18 saves.
