Keep talking to the hand, Kelly

OK – Thanksgiving’s over, time to get down and dirty with Kelly and Clay.

Last week, as Kelly Ripa‘s guest co-host on “Live With Regis and Kelly,” Clay Aiken put his hand in a shushing manner over Ripa’s mouth during an interview with “Dancing With the Stars” winner Emmitt Smith.

“You don’t do that,” said a clearly peeved Ripa, adding: “I don’t know where that hand’s been, honey.”

Then this week, on “The View,” Rosie O’Donnell – tacitly referring to rumors about Aiken’s sexuality – accused Ripa of being a homophobe, saying, “If that was a straight man, if that was a cute man … she would have said a different thing.”

So Ripa phoned in to called the charge “outrageous,” adding: “He’s shaking hands with everybody in the audience. I mean, it’s cold and flu season. That’s what I meant.”

On Wednesday’s “View,” Barbara Walters declared peace, saying everyone involved had talked it over and “all is well with the world.”

They’re arch-rivals

By the way, Emmitt Smith, the former star Dallas Cowboys running back, has no illusions about what winning “Dancing with the Stars” will do for his career.

“I’m not going to Disneyland. I don’t think I’m going to be on the cover of a Wheaties box,” the three-time Super Bowl champion tells Newsweek.

Asked who has the better moves – him or former NFL receiver Jerry Rice, a previous contestant – Smith said: “I’d like to think that I do. I won the championship, right?”

And some couch-hopping

Residents of the Maldives would love to say hello to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who have been honeymooning in the Indian Ocean island chain, a government official says.

“People are really curious and they feel they should show some of their culture, especially dancing,” chief government spokesman Mohamed Hussain Shareef said.

As for the happy couple, who were staying on a yacht, he added: “We understand they may be planning to do some island hopping.”

That’s our P.C.

The heir to the British throne has taken another step into the Internet age, posting a day-in-the life video on his Web site.

The short film follows Prince Charles through a typical day, working at his London office, carrying out public engagements with his wife, Camilla, and flying by helicopter to his country home for a reception.

The site also includes everything from a sign-up for e-mail updates on his Duchy Originals brand of organic food products to a children’s section with puzzles and games.

Fairy tale of the tape?

Kevin Federline‘s lawyer is denying that any sex video exists involving his client and estranged wife Britney Spears.

Rumors have run rampant that aspiring rapper Federline planned to sell such a tape.

Spears filed for divorce this month following two years of marriage and two sons.
