Eagles must move on, face Titans

The Spokesman-Review

The Eastern Washington men’s basketball team doesn’t have much time to fret over its near miss against 16th-ranked Washington on Friday night.

The Eagles (2-3) face Cal State Fullerton tonight at 7:05 at Reese Court.

The Titans have beaten the Eagles in each of the last three seasons and are off to a 4-0 start this year. Last year’s game was an 89-63 romp at Fullerton in February as part of the ESPN BracketBusters. This is the return game for that trip.

Fullerton is led by senior guard Bobby Brown, who has averaged 24.7 points against the Eagles.

“They are an extremely talented team,” Eagles coach Mike Burns said. “That backcourt might be as talented as the backcourt we saw against Washington. It’s just as tough. The good news is that the game is on our floor and hopefully we will be able to rally our students, get them in the building and make a little noise. If we play with the effort we played with against Washington defensively, we’ll be alright.”
