‘Inconvenient Truth’ to be shown at St. John’s

The Cathedral Youth and Young Adults and the Episcopal Diocese at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., are presenting the movie, “An Inconvenient Truth,” Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The evening will begin with a soup supper, and there will be a brief discussion after the film that will cover different ways to help save the environment.

‘Crash’ and faith

Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline St., is presenting the Oscar-winning film “Crash” Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. The film is a part of its series of films that relate to issues of faith.

Workshops

“Anyone interested in music and worship is invited to attend a weekend of musical workshops featuring John Ylvisaker today through Sunday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 8441 N. Indian Trail Road.

The weekend will start at 6 tonight with a dinner and discussion panel for church leaders.

On Friday at 7 p.m. there will be a liturgical musicians’ rehearsal. Saturday will bring a children’s workshop at 10 a.m., “Church Music for the 21st Century,” at 3 p.m.

At 7 p.m., all musicians are invited to participate in a hymn jam.

On Sunday, there will be the workshop, “From Palestrina to Paris: The Evolution of Church Music,” at 9:30 a.m. Worship services will be held at 8:25 and 11:05.

The cost for the whole weekend of workshops is $10 per person, or $50 per congregation.

“Ancient Traditions Community Church, 1928 E. Rich Ave., is continuing its enneagram personality types classes Monday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

This class will focus on enthusiasts/energizers.

Gospel concert

Bethel Church of the Nazarene, 1111 S. Thor St., and Northview Bible Church, 13521 N. Mill Road, are both presenting Liberty, a traditional Southern gospel quartet Sunday at 8:30 and 11 a.m. at Bethel Church of the Nazarene, and at 6 p.m. at Northview.

The concert is free, but there will be a free-will love offering to support the group’s ministry.

Spokane Christian Singles is hosting a speed-dating event Sunday at 3 p.m. at Mission Community Presbyterian Church, 2103 E. Mission Ave.
