Indian Trail lots to use city water

The Spokesman-Review

The Spokane City Council on Monday approved a resolution granting an extension of city water service to 80 acres so that the owners can develop eight 10-acre lots.

Pete and Linda Rayner, owners of the acreage east of Indian Trail Road and outside the city, have been seeking to develop the property with city water for more than a decade.

In exchange, the owners have agreed not to fight any future annexation and would develop the parcels consistent with the city’s comprehensive plan and land-use regulations.

In other business, the City Council authorized purchase of an office building at 920 E. Wolverton Court to provide expanded space for Water Department staff. The purchase price was set at $375,000 but is subject to an appraisal confirming the building’s current market value.
