Youth Advocate Award – Nominations are being accepted for the American Cancer Society Youth Advocate of the Year Award for a student in Washington who has made significant contributions to the tobacco control movement and/or school health and nutrition issues. Applications are due by Oct. 13. Contact Shannon at 242-8301 for information.

Before- and After-school Programs – Educational and fun programs are available at the Northeast Youth Center, 4001 N. Cook. Transportation to and from some local elementary schools is available and state pay is accepted. Includes a USDA-approved snack. Boys and Girls Club of Spokane County – After school programs for ages 6-18, 544 E. Providence. Call 489-0741.

Camp Fire USA – Clubs forming for children ages 3 through 12th grade. Call the Camp Fire USA Service Center for more information, 747-6191.

Libby Teen Center – Open for basketball, volleyball and table games Tuesday through Saturday from 4:30-9 p.m. Free. Also scheduling outdoor activities, field trips and aerobics classes at the center, 2900 E. First Ave. For more information or to volunteer, call 536-8152.
